Beautiful location, wonderful hosts. We were a group of eight people and all had plenty of room to rest, relax and enjoy. Very clean, with all the amenities you need. The location allows for day trips to smaller cities in the area (Rute, Lucena, Priego de Cordoba etc.) and even the larger cities like Granada, Cordoba and Malaga. Wonderful to come back to this spot at the end of a day of sight-seeing, so quiet and the view is out of this world. Pour yourself a glass of Rioja and watch the sunset! Thanks again to Carlos and Francesca, such wonderful people!!

The rooms was clean and cosy. The beautiful view from villa, pool wonderful. In the villa was full equipment. The owner helpful. Thank you very much Carlos and Ruben.

We loved La Vesanilla from the moment we arrived and were greeted by Juan Carlos and his lovely wife and son. After an hour’s drive from Malaga we were very grateful for the beer and tapas they provided when they met us on arrival!

This villa is located among the finest rural locations of all of Andalusia. Set high up in the hillside, it has gorgeous views of Lake Iznajar and the surrounding olive groves. Be prepared for a bit of an adventure on the final approach as there’s a steep climb up to the villa through an olive grove before dropping down the last piece of the driveway (but no need for four-wheel drive!). It’s worth it though as, once through the gate, you enter into a separate secluded and tranquil world.

The pool area is a sheltered sun trap in the afternoon and the main patio in front of the villa is perfect for a late lunch while enjoying the views.

The night skies are very dark and perfect for after-dinner stargazing.

It’s ideal for groups of friends sharing (like us) or bringing the whole family. Kids would love it.

We found it to be a perfect base to explore the beautiful countryside, visiting Cordoba and Sevilla (longish but very easy drives), as well as nearby Iznajar, Antequerra and Rute.

The villa is very spacious, comfortable and immaculately maintained by the owner and his family who are close by if needed. However, we found there was absolutely everything we needed during our stay. Oh, and we loved the traditional Spanish ambience of the property.

Next time we come we’ll stay closer to the villa as we now know there is much more to see in the nearby Subbetica region. Juan Carlos, thank you, we’ll be back!

It was such an honor to meet our hosts, Juan Carlos and his family. They are the most kind and warm, hardworking, representing the best of Andalusia.

The view was just incredible, surrounded by olive trees with mountains and lake, everyone in our group were awed by the beauty of the surrounding. The place is conveniently located between Granada and Cordoba, making day trips possible.

The house has everything our group of 8 adults needed. Markets and restaurants are all within minutes of driving.

I hope to come back to this incredible place and incredible people.
